Energy Converters

Energy Conversion is simply about collecting energy from a source in one form, and turning it into another form for consumption. For example, there are energy converters which use the motion of the ocean's surface waves to flex and bend parts of the converter, which ultimately creates electricity. Or more recently, a patent for "tunneling effect energy converters" was granted in September 2005. The device is essentially built to turn thermal energy, or energy from heat, into electricity.
Each day groundbreaking work is being done on devices that will allow us to extract energy more and more sustainably. Energy Converters are a great way to help the American consumer cut down on emissions per capita. By using devices that can help us receive usable energy from the heat of the Earth, the sun, the oceans, wind and other green sources, we are helping to move our "green economy" in the direction of positive change.
